The main purpose of the Extension Booking functionality is to allow travel providers to sell directly to the guest who is traveling on a booking made through a Travel Agency and bypass paying commission.

An extension booking is a new reservation which has its own ID but is directly linked to another reservation, which becomes a Parent reservation. Some or all of the guests from the Parent reservation may be included into the Extension booking, as well as guests which are not part of the Parent reservation (e.g. guests from a linked TW reservation). There may be more than one Extension booking linked to the Parent reservation.

Extension booking has the capability to reserve add-on and dining components. Invoicing and payment properties among others are accessible in the Extension booking. The business rules, conditions and criteria that apply to a regular FIT reservation also apply to the Extension booking.
